Small Business Development Grants

  • Are you a small to medium-sized business based in Southern Adelaide with a turnover of $250,000 to $5m per annum?

In response to the closure of Mitsubishi’s Tonsley Park manufacturing plant, the State Government has established the Small Business Development Grant (SBDG).

This competitive, merit-based grant is available on a dollar for dollar matching basis.
 
Its key aims are to:

  • Target established, small and medium sized manufacturing and services (ICT, technical, educational and scientific) companies with a sound, clearly identified investment opportunity.
  • Enhance economic growth, employment and business development in southern Adelaide.

Applications will be accepted if the project involves capital expenditure of a minimum of $200,000 and new job creation in the Southern Adelaide region. Projects with a bias toward innovation and the introduction of new technology will be given priority.

First round grants to inject a $1m helping hand for southern Adelaide small businesses.

South Australian Innovation and Investment Fund

Applications are invited from innovative businesses for grants under the South Australian Innovation and Investment Fund. This is an initiative of the Australian and South Australian Governments after Mitsubishi Motors announced the closure of its Tonsley Park assembly plant. Advanced manufacturing and technology projects which diversify the South Australian economy beyond the automotive sector will be favourably assessed.
