Employment profile*

Labour force participation for the southern Adelaide metropolitan region is regarded as above the State average (61.4%). The four key industry sectors are: manufacturing, retail trade, health and community services, and property and business services, representing over half (55%) of the Southern workforce.

The general level of education and qualifications in the Southern Metropolitan region is slightly higher than the State average, with above average proportions of people with Diploma and Certificate III or IV qualifications.
